The longer I am here at Blackhawk working with our kids, the more certain and steadfast I become about the purpose of Children's Ministries. I often look at all the things thrown at our kids and see what they face every day, and I cannot help but have an intense awareness of the importance of the Church's need to partner with parents. Our hope is that what kids experience on Sunday mornings is encouraging and useful for parents to build upon during the week.

I was reminded recently of Ecclesiastes 4:12 "Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken." I truly believe that there is great power and strength in partnering together to teach our kids about God and what it means to live rooted in His Truth. Here at Blackhawk, we talk about Gathering, Connecting and Going, and we want to be able to do that with you and your family.

We love your kids and what we get to do on Sunday mornings, and we consider it a privilege to be partnered with you. Please know that our office is always open to you and your family.

Serving with you,

We firmly believe that the more the Church and parents are working together, the richer and deeper our kids' roots in God will grow. Parents are the key player in this, and below are a few of the ways we are partnering with you in engaging your kids.

Every Sunday there are take home sheets from the morning's Bible lesson and application that is meant for parents to use during the week. These are valuable resources that have some great activities and discussion ideas for you to use with your kids.

God Sighting - one way we are going to be engaging the kids to a greater awareness of God is asking about "God Sightings." These are ways in which they learned or experienced something about God during the week. For example, if they saw something really cool in creation and were able to thank God for it; or, if they saw how God answered a prayer. These are great ways to keep God at the forefront of your conversations with your kids.

Please be watching for more ways in which we will be trying to partner with you. Please let us know if you have any ideas of how we can better serve you and your kids.
