“At Blackhawk Ministries, we long to see God establish a diverse community of disciples – Jesus imitators whose ethnic, financial and personal differences disappear in our genuine love for our God, each other, and our neighbor.”

How will we know when we are there?

There was once a small band of Jesus followers who, even though different and diverse, came together by the grace and power of God to transform the then known world. This first church was characterized by a devotion to the ways of Jesus. They had established patterns of life and ministry which they had learned from watching Jesus himself. At Blackhawk we call these patterns “Elements”. And as a result of a 2-year study and survey of the Gospels and the book of Acts, we have established what we call our “5 Elements.”

We believe when our personal lives are consistently characterized by these 5 Elements, that as a church we will be that much closer to the realization of our Vision.

Disciples are Devoted to:

	Prayerful Abiding Time of personal intimacy with God fostered and furthered through the act and attitude of prayer (John 15)
	The Scriptures God’s Word is reliable and true. It gives authoritative and loving guidance through the every day issues of life. (Ps. 119)
	Missional Serving This is Serving – that at the motivational level – seeks to draw attention to God and make much of Him while meeting the physical and spiritual needs of others (Acts 4)
	Transformational Communities Lives are transformed and changed forever when people are willing to live and share all of life together (Acts 2)
	Making Disciples True Christ Followers are passionate about making more! Be it a redemptive friendship with a friend far from God or the ongoing spiritual equipping of one “already convinced” – disciples multiply! (Matt. 28)
